Disclosures are formal statements that provide important information about a property’s condition, legal status, or known issues. Disclosures are often required by law to promote transparency and protect all parties involved. Common types of disclosures include lead-based paint disclosures, mold or asbestos disclosures, property damage or defect disclosures, flood zone disclosures, and pest infestation disclosures. In rental properties, disclosures may also cover security deposit handling, utility billing practices, or shared utility arrangements.
