RENT AND FEE INCREASES AND LEASE RENEWALS

A landlord must provide a tenant with written notice of a rent increase or change in fees, fines, assessments, interest, or other costs at least 30 days before the increase becomes effective. Also, at least 30 days before a lease non-renewal, a landlord must give a tenant written notice of the landlord’s intent not to renew the tenant’s lease. The landlord should make sure the tenant actually receives the notice.
